Valentine’s Day can be very overrated for some people. However, there are also other people who seriously take Valentine’s Day to heart. And we can’t blame them if they’re just romantic or simply trying to enjoy a special time with their precious love one.
If you’re already taken and you’re down to the wire in planning your Valentine’s Day surprise, why not have a quick weekend getaway to Abu Dhabi if you are living in the United Arab Emirates?
Why Abu Dhabi?
Abu Dhabi is quieter when compared to its sister city of Dubai. It is very rich in culture and offers a wide variety of activities for couples, from watching the sunset in one of the villas in the luxurious resorts of Abu Dhabi or visiting wild life parks, to having an artful time at the Louvre Museum. Also, I have already featured Dubai previously. It’s time to give focus to the capital of the country of UAE.
Here are tips on how to spend your Valentine’s Day getaway in the beautiful Abu Dhabi:
Visit the Louvre Museum
This museum is a branch of the famous Louvre Museum in France. See the masterpieces from the Leiden Collection with the works of the Dutch masters like Rembrandt and Vemeer which will run from 14 Feb. to 18 May, 2019. If your partner enjoys art, then a visit to this grand museum will be a perfect Valentine’s Day treat.
General admission is AED 60 for adults above 22 years or age. Other prices are for 13-22 years of age, children, UAE military, and UAE teachers. Check their web page at https://www.louvreabudhabi.ae/en/buy-ticket/ for more info.
Have your own private beach igloo at St. Regis
St. Regis Hotel is offering lovebirds a wonderful and private experience of having your own beach igloo for yourselves during Valentine’s Day for a hefty price. Well, you should not put a price tag for your love one but this experience will surely set the bar high! The stay comes with a four course meal served at your very own private beach igloo. It costs AED 3500 per couple and it includes your meals but not the stay. You can book it separately. You can call The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, Nation Towers, West Corniche (02 694 4553) for reservations or more info.
Visit Ferrari World
Are you both the adrenalin junkie and loves fun rides and amusement parks? Then Ferrari World will be your best destination this Valentine’s Day. It may be remotely romantic, to say the least but what matters most is the fun time spent with your special one. Ride the many attractions inside this covered amusement park. Thrill your partner with the exciting, and super fast Formula Rossa ride.
A single day park ticket costs AED 295.

Marvel at the beauty of the grandiose architecture of the Grand Mosque. which is also the resting place of the late UAE President, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The mosque is made of marble with some precious stones added to the entire premise.
Check its serene ambiance while also respecting the religious aspect it represents. Be sure to dress modestly and appropriately.
